FRX Polymers are finding applications as a specialty resin and as non-halogenated "melt processable" FR additives for engineering plastics. Initial development of FRX Polymers’ properties in various polymer systems is underway. Strong value propositions have been uncovered, and the preliminary properties in three systems are listed below.
FRX Copolymers in PC
FRX Copolymers allow PC to achieve a UL 94 V0 rating at 1.6 mm while simultaneously maintaining transparency. When used by itself, FRX CO 35 is capable of achieving a 0.75 mm V0 while maintaining full transparency.

FRX Polymers in ABS
FRX Copolymers have been tested as a replacement for both polycarbonate and a phosphorous-containing FR additive known as BDP in typical FR PC/ABS formulations. FRX Copolymers provide excellent FR properties while simultaneously improving the heat distortion temperature of the blend. Unlike standard phosphorous-containing additives, FRX Polymers do not migrate out of the plastic article overtime and results in a more hydrolytically stable final product.

FRX Polymers in PBT
FRX Polymers offers a non-blooming FR system for PBT. When compounded into glass-reinforced PBT together with a synergist, FRX delivers excellent physical, rheological and electrical properties.
